Wendy Planning

"Real World"

For Wendy's clothing in the real world scenes I want to have her in very natural casual clothes, nothing too dressy or fancy, something which portrays her as an average girl the audience can relate to. I plan to have her in jeans -full length, a very simple outfit, plain T-shirt and minimal jewellery -one focus item e.g. Necklace. This will help to create a stronger contrast with the Neverland clothing.
Jeans
Plain light T-shirt
Possible jacket (beige/cream)
Statement necklace or earrings
Comfy shoes (converses, plimsoles, pumps)
No handbag

"Neverland"

I have two different ideas for the Neverland outfit.
Firstly I thought about having a very girly pretty pale cream dress, the light colours signify innocence which links with the childhood theme and creates a very sweet "good girl" look (this could be pared with a darker make up to show the deviant, rebellious behaviour of running away. Showing while she wants I be this innocent child not having to deal with the hassles of adulthood but this will never be the case).
Secondly I thought about having a very similar pretty, girly dress but in a pale blue shade, this is to match the dress used in the Disney version of Peter Pan, this would be easily recognisable and show a clear connection with the fairytale. However this could be a negative thing, by using existing content and themes from the Disney movie this creates an image of expectation which the character will have to compete with, by being unique these boundaries and pre-set images are broken.

Peter Pan Collar

For one of the outfits (probably Neverland) I thought about having a Peter Pan collared dress, this would tie in with the whole story well. However if this is difficult to find a dress matching it is not essential. The dress would still be in the same colour scheme, blue or cream/white.

I have had three different ideas for the make up of Wendy:

Natural

The idea behind the natural themed make up is to reflect on the childhood, forever young theme of neverland. I definitely want to use a very natural look for the opening real world scenes to ensure a very simplistic look this will be more relatable to the target audience.

Colourful

I had the idea of having very colourful creative make up for the neverland scenes to enphasise on the contract between the two worlds. Also it would match the colourful theme of the neverland scenes (balloons, Fairylights, holi powder etc.).

Heavy/ Darker

As I briefly mentioned before the darker make up would give a twist on the look, it would highlight the more adult side of the character. Showing that even in such a childish setting the reality of growing up is there and you cannot escape from it.

Detailed/ Unique

This style of hair would help to convey the fairytale appeal. Also reflect on the unique, creative aspect of the neverland setting.

Simple/ Messy

The messy simplistic hairstyle would really show off the wilder side of running away and surviving in neverland, realistically the detailed hairstyle wouldn't work, therefore it creates a more plausible look. Also typically in everyday situations this form of shairstyle -very plane and simple, is the norm, by having a very everyday look it portrays this same everyday feel, whichever essentially is they're aim to make this their new everyday life.
